Wigan Athletic keeper Chris Kirkland is happy Charles N'Zogbia is now a team-mate and no longer someone he has to face.
The Latics completed the acquisition of the midfielder from Newcastle on transfer deadline day with Ryan Taylor moving in the opposite direction as part of the deal.
The former Liverpool keeper is excited about the pace the French ace will bring to the team, although he has given him a word of warning that he will have to fight to win a place in Steve Bruce's side due to the side's good run of form.
"He'll bring a lot of pace. I've played against him a couple of times and he's always caused us problems," Kirkland told Sky Sports News.
"He's going to have to work hard to get in the team because the lads that have played this season have done great and no one is guaranteed a spot.
"We've just got to keep going. There's 14 games left so we've got to make sure we take each game as it comes and try to keep picking up points."
Wigan's goalless draw at Aston Villa saw Mido lead the line and Kirkland is hoping he can strike up a good partnership with Amr Zaki.
"He did extremely well on Saturday. It was an extremely tough game. He didn't get much of the ball, but he worked hard.
"Hopefully they (Mido and Zaki) can strike up a good partnership and start scoring the goals."
