Sven Goran Eriksson has been given the full backing of the Mexican Football Federation amid reports suggesting his days in the job could be numbered.
Eriksson only took charge of Mexico last summer, immediately after he had parted company with Manchester City.
He has come under pressure in recent weeks and Wednesday's 2-0 defeat to USA fuelled speculation that he could be set to leave the role.
Eriksson responded by insisting that he would not quit his current post, even though he continues to be linked with the vacant job at Portsmouth.
Mexican Football Federation president Justino Compean has now assured Eriksson that he will be given time to put things right and lead the team to the 2010 World Cup.
"There's total support for Eriksson because we have a commitment with him to get to South Africa and we are going to be there," Compean told reporters.
"There are 30 points to play for and we have lost the first three. It hurts us a lot to lose and there's no justification."
