Dickinson to return to Stoke

Stoke City are to welcome Carl Dickinson back into the squad at the end of his month-long spell at Leeds United.

The full-back has made six appearances since joining the League One club last month, but his loan will not be extended.

Dickinson is due to make his final appearance for Leeds against Hereford on Tuesday night, with manager Simon Grayson praising his impact.

"I think the likelihood is Carl will go back," Grayson told the club's official website.

"That's what happens with loan players, but we're delighted with what he's done. He's helped us keep clean sheets and he's done well.

"He's desperate to play football and really wants to play in the Premiership which he is entitled to do."

Potters boss Tony Pulis confirmed Dickinson's impending return to the Britannia Stadium, with the 21-year-old having made three Premier League appearances earlier this season.

Pulis told The Sentinel: "He's done very well over the past month according to the reports we've been getting.

"We're grateful to Leeds for giving him that chance, but now we think it's the right time to bring him back here because Carl is very much a part of the future of this club and we want to get him involved again."
