Chimbonda eyes derby win

Pascal Chimbonda is hoping for a derby victory over Arsenal on his first appearance at White Hart Lane since rejoining Tottenham Hotspur.

The French full-back completed a return to Spurs last week, just six months after leaving the club for Sunderland.

He made his second debut in a 3-2 defeat at Bolton Wanderers and is now gearing up for Sunday's derby.

Spurs produced a stunning comeback to draw 4-4 at Emirates Stadium earlier this season and Chimbonda feels the team are capable of beating Arsenal.

"I know if we play well we can beat them, we have so many good players at the club," said Chimbonda.

The defender came close to beating Arsenal while playing for Sunderland in October, only for Cesc Fabregas to score an injury-time equaliser.

He added: "We played well that day and and drew 1-1.

"The plan was to defend well and try to score when we got a chance.

"We got the opportunity, scored that goal first and there were only a few minutes left, but Arsenal equalised in the last minute and that was so disappointing.

"This will be different because we won't look to defend, we will want to show our football and if we play well we can win.

"If we can it will be so important for our league position and, of course, the fans. We know how much it means to them."
