Bolton have rubbished speculation they are lining up Burnley manager Owen Coyle as a replacement for Gary Megson.
Reports had claimed that the Premier League outfit were ready to axe Megson, who joined the club in October 2007, following a run of two wins in eight games.
The Trotters boss has failed to win over a section of supporters and was verbally abused after the 2-2 draw at Blackburn on 28th January.
And conjecture has implied that the highly-rated Coyle was the leading candidate to make a move to the Reebok Stadium.
But Bolton have refuted the claims and have described the report as "unfounded, wholly inaccurate and misleading speculation".
A club spokesman added: "It is just rubbish."
