Didier Zokora has challenged Tottenham to return to winning ways in the Premier League.
Spurs struggled at the start of the season under Juande Ramos but improved dramatically following Harry Redknapp's appointment as manager and quickly climbed out of the relegation zone.
They have been unable to push up the table as they would have liked and a run of four league games without a win has left them in a precarious position just above the bottom three.
Tottenham have recorded victories in the Carling Cup and FA Cup over the past few days but Zokora accepts that the focus now has to be on the Premier League.
The midfielder said: "I look at the players we have here and I don't know why we are 16th in the table.
"I know the last few months of the season were difficult, we started badly.
"Harry came in and lifted the confidence and we played very well but in the last three games our performances have not been as we would want, we are better than that.
"It's frustrating because we wanted to take points for the players, the fans and for Harry."
While Tottenham are only outside the relegation zone on goal difference, the league is so tight they are just eight points behind seventh-placed Wigan.
Zokora added: "When you look at the table, after the top six, seventh all the way down to 20th is very close.
"We now have 18 league games left and every one is important."
