Luke Young sees no reason why Aston Villa cannot spring an upset and take the Premier League title.
Martin O'Neill's side have upset the form book this season and currently sit just three points adrift of leaders Manchester United.
Having maintained a consistent level of performance thus far expectations around Villa Park have sky-rocketed.
A top four finish no longer represents the pinnacle of their aspirations, with Young adamant that the top-flight crown is there for the taking.
"Nobody is talking about that but why not?" said the England international.
"We're currently three points off the leaders. If we're still there in March, then why not?
"I think a lot of people have been thinking we will crack and slip up, but at the moment we haven't done that.
"Every game we go into the manager makes it clear we are going for all three points.
"You have to have that attitude when you are fourth in the league and trying to fight with teams that rarely slip up."
Meanwhile, Young also believes that the recent arrive of Emile Heskey at the club will help to spearhead their title tilt.
"His experience will definitely help us," he added.
"Even when he is not scoring he's invaluable to the team. He's one of those unselfish players who brings people into the game so other players can thrive off him.
"He doesn't always get the credit he deserves, but players in the game know how good he is."
