Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger expects Theo Walcott to sign a new long-term contract at Emirates Stadium sooner rather than later.
The England winger has 18 months remaining on his current deal but Wenger is keen to keep the youngster, who is currently sidelined with a dislocated shoulder.
Wenger, who paid Southampton £12.5million for Walcott in 2006, is holding talks with the 19-year-old and is hoping for a quick conclusion.
"We will sort that (his contract) out," Wenger told the club's official website.
"We are in negotiations. He wants to stay and we want him to stay, so we should find an agreement."
