Pulis proud of players

Stoke manager Tony Pulis was pleased with his side's battling point following the goalless draw with Liverpool.

The Potters held Liverpool to a second stalemate of the season after a hard-fought encounter at the Britannia Stadium.

The point lifts Stoke out of the bottom three, but with just five points separating the teams from 11th to 20th it is going to be one of the tighest battles in years to avoid relegation.

Pulis admits the fight against the drop could not be more exciting after praising his side's showing against league leaders Liverpool.

"We're very pleased that so many clubs are involved," said Pulis.

"It makes it really exciting for everybody else.

"I'm very, very pleased with the players. The effort and commitment was first class, and we created quite a few good chances as well."

Pulis believes Liverpool will have a major say in the title race despite misiing the chance to go six points clear at the top with victory at the Britannia Stadium.

"Liverpool are a great side, they have got some great players and it's a great football club," noted Pulis.

"They're in the best position they possibly could be. I'm sure Rafa will be pleased to push on from here."
