Moyes impressed by Gosling

Everton manager David Moyes has vowed to give midfielder Dan Gosling more opportunities in order to further his development.

Gosling has impressed since making his debut in the 1-0 win at Middlesbrough on Boxing Day.

The midfielder even managed to get his name on the scoresheet in the club's next game, coming off the bench to grab the final goal in a 3-0 win at home against Sunderland.

The 18-year-old has remained in the manager's plans ever since filling in for fellow midfielders Tim Cahill and Marouane Fellaini who have been asked to do a job up front following a number of injuries to the club's top strikers.

After coming off the bench in the Toffees' 1-0 FA Cup third round win at Macclesfield, Moyes claims Gosling will get more chances to impress.

"Dan has been terrific. His performance at Middlesbrough was really strong for a young boy," he told the Liverpool Echo.

"He has got a lot going for him. He was very close to starting in the next game, but I felt it was right for Leon Osman, who had been injured, to come back in.

"However Dan came on later and scored. He's made a good start. Now we want to make sure he keeps progressing.

"We are going to give him moments on the field to make sure that happens. We just hope he can keep developing."
