Mikel a happy Toffee

Mikel Arteta has vowed to stay loyal to Everton fans despite attracting interest from other clubs.

The Spanish midfielder has been in fine form this season, prompting interest from Arsenal and big spenders Man City, but Arteta insists he's happy at Goodison Park.

"I've three years of a good contract left and I'm really happy with how things are run here," said the Spaniard. "The club has shown me lots of faith and respect and I'll be happy to repay them."

Everton go into the second Merseyside derby of the week at Anfield on Sunday, hoping to build on their impressive Monday night performance.

Arteta, who is expected to feature for Spain against England next month, was the provider for Tim Cahill's late equaliser in that game but maintains the attention will not affect Everton's charge for UEFA Champions League qualification.

"No way would I drive myself crazy worrying about whether Arsenal or City were interested in buying me," he insisted.
