Lucho Gonzalez is refusing to read too much into speculation linking him with a move to Manchester City.
The talented Porto midfielder has seen his future become the subject of much conjecture in recent weeks, with a January transfer widely touted.
City are understood to be long-term admirers of the Argentina international and have sent scouts to watch him in action on more than one occasion.
The Blues have considerable funds to splash out during the current transfer window and would be prepared to spend big on the highly-rated playmaker.
However, Lucho, who is under contract at Porto until 2010, insists his focus remains on helping his current employers enjoy as successful a season as possible.
"I ignore the reports because they are just rumours," he said.
"My head is with Porto at present and my objective is to help the club to win the title and progress as far as possible in the Champions League."
A spokesman for the Portuguese giants confirmed that no bids have been lodged for the player, and insists boss Jesualdo Ferreira has no intention of parting with his key men.
"We have no received any offers for Lucho and our aim is not to sell him because he is vital to the team," they said.
