Kuyt's agent snubs Juve switch

Dirk Kuyt's agent has dismissed speculation the Dutchman is on his way out of Liverpool and heading for Juventus.

Reports in Italy have claimed the Serie A side are lining up the forward as a long-term replacement for 36-year-old Czech star Pavel Nedved, who may retire from football when his contract runs out in the summer.

Kuyt has been drafted out wide for the Reds this season, scoring five goals in 22 Premier League appearances.

But the 28-year-old's agent Karel Jansen said Kuyt hopes to extend his current contract, which runs out in 2010, and has been quick to play down a possible transfer away from Anfield.

"Kuyt is good at Liverpool and until he actually receives an offer does not think of going elsewhere," Jansen told the Italian press.

"If you receive a proposal from an important club then you think of this, but for now there is nothing.

"I do not know anything of this story. At the moment I have not received any phone call, not from Juventus or anybody.

"We are talking to Liverpool to try and renew his contract."

During Friday's weekly press conference, Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez said he would not be selling any more senior players in the January transfer window following Jermaine Pennant's loan switch to Portsmouth.

"We are not doing anything in the transfer window," Benitez said.

"We are just waiting, we are receiving phone calls about our younger players going out on loan but not senior players because we need them to help us win the title."
