
Kevin Kilbane's proposed move from Wigan Athletic to Hull City is a step closer after the midfielder opened talks with the Tigers.
City boss Phil Brown is keen to bolster his ranks this month and has already had a fee accepted by West Ham United for Luis Boa Morte.
Discussions are now under way with Kilbane, as Brown looks to land the 32-year-old in time for Saturday's home match with Arsenal.
The Republic of Ireland international, who joined Wigan from Everton in 2006, has started just three Premier League games this season.
