Portsmouth midfielder Richard Hughes has signed a new deal at Fratton Park.
Hughes has inked a two-and-a-half-year extension to keep him at Fratton Park until 2011.
The news is a massive boost to Pompey boss Tony Adams and the 29-year-old was delighted to pledge his long-term future to the club.
"I'm delighted to commit my future to Pompey, a club I love," Hughes told the club's official website.
"I've had six-and-a-half fantastic years and have been asked to extend my stay. It was an easy decision to make.
"The supporters are unbelievable and Tony Adams is a manager I want to play for. Tony deserves success here and I'm delighted to be part of his reign at the club."
