Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood has fiercely dismissed suggestions that Florentino Perez would appoint Arsene Wenger as manager if he wins the Real Madrid presidency.
Real are due to hold elections this summer after Ramon Calderon resigned earlier this month. Perez, who has previously served as Real Madrid president for six years, is reported to be interested in bringing the Frenchman to the Bernabeu.
However, Hill-Wood has no concerns over Wenger's future and laughed off Perez's alleged claims.
"I think it is laughable. It is very disrespectful and rude," he told the Sunday Mirror.
"I cannot believe that Arsene would go there for all the tea in China. He would be played around like a puppet.
"It cannot be right to talk in such a way about a manager who is under contract at another club.
"I am very comfortable with the fact that Arsene will be staying with us. He is under contract until 2012 and has never broken a contract in his life."
In a similar vein, Hill-Wood played down the continuing speculation that club captain Cesc Fabregas would also be making a move to the Spanish capital.
"He is not for sale to Madrid or anybody else. Absolutely not," Hill-Wood added.
"He is a very sensible young man and he is very happy at Arsenal. I would be surprised if he wanted to leave Arsenal and go to Madrid. Very surprised."
