Hatters keeper in demand

Owain Fon Williams's outstanding form has captured the attention of number of Premier League and Championship clubs, skysports.com understands.

The Welsh Under-21 international joined The Hatters in the summer after deciding to leave Crewe.

He has now established himself as one of the most highly-rated keepers in the lower leagues and with Stockport looking to sell this month, he is one of names looking most likely to depart Edgeley Park.

The 21-year-old now looks set to be the subject of a bidding battle with half-a-dozen clubs looking to secure his services.

Sunderland, Manchester City, Blackburn and Tottenham are all very keen, whilst Championship sides Sheffield United, Ipswich, Preston and Queens Park Rangers are also lining up bids.

Stockport boss Jim Gannon conceded earlier this week that he was set to lose players and Fon Williams is one of his prized assets.
