City eye couple more deals

Manchester City executive chairman Garry Cook has revealed the club are hoping to sign a couple more players before the transfer window shuts.

Cash-rich City have been the busiest side in this month's transfer market, bringing in three new faces in the shape of Wayne Bridge, Craig Bellamy and Nigel de Jong.

City were also frustrated in their attempts to sign Brazilian star Kaka from AC Milan in a world-record deal and Cook admits they are not finished shopping for new signings.

"We had very clear plans going into this transfer window and we are ticking the boxes as we go," Cook told the club's official website.

"There are a couple of others that we are still working on. As yet, there is nothing more to report - but overall we have had a good transfer window."
