Bolton enter Zoro race

Bolton have stepped up their interest in Benfica's Mark Zoro following a trial period at Blackburn.

Rovers' manager Sam Allardyce was keen to sign the Ivory Coast international after he impressed during his short time at Ewood Park but the two clubs have failed to agree a fee.

With the any deal seemingly on hold North West rivals Bolton have now been reported to have entered the race to sign the 25-year-old.

Manager Gary Megson is expected to meet with Benfica on Monday to talk over terms.

Since signing for the club in summer 2007 Zoro has made only two appearances for the Lisbon club.

The defender has a contract until 2012 but is allowed to leave after manager Quique Sanchez Flores admitted that he did not feature in his plans.
