Tony Mowbray has no plans to bring in additional defensive cover despite a growing injury list at West Brom.
The Hawthorns treatment room has become increasingly congested of late, with defensive quartet Jonas Olsson, Abdoulaye Meite, Gianni Zuiverloon and Neil Clement all ruled out.
West Brom's injury woes were exacerbated in the weekend win over Middlesbrough as Leon Barnett limped off in the 39th minute.
The January transfer window would appear to be an ideal time for West Brom to strengthen but Mowbray is quietly confident he could receive a fitness fillip before too long.
"I'm pretty sure that Meite will be back within a fortnight and hopefully Jonas will be back in less time than that or at least at the same time," Mowbray told the club's official website.
"Gianni could train today and, as we saw at Bolton, he can play centre-half if needs be.
"Therefore, I don't think we'll be looking into bringing another centre-half in.
"It's not ideal at the moment, especially when we've got Clem out long term as well.
"Having Clement, Meite, Olsson and Zuiverloon all unavailable really does stretch things."
Mowbray is optimistic Barnett's injury will not prove to be too problematic, adding: "Hopefully Leon will only be out for a couple of weeks.
"I think it's a tightening rather than tear. They call it a grade one strain that needs managing."
