Baggies consider Robinson appeal

West Brom will make a decision on Wednesday as to whether they will appeal against Paul Robinson's red card.

The Baggies were hammered 5-0 by Premier League leaders Manchester United at The Hawthorns on Tuesday and, to make matters worse, Robinson was dismissed shortly before half-time.

Robinson, manager Tony Mowbray's stand-in skipper following Jonathan Greening's knee injury, is now facing a three-match ban after receiving a straight red card from referee Rob Styles for kicking out at Park Ji-sung.

However, Mowbray has confirmed that he is set to view video evidence before contemplating a bid to get Robinson's suspension overturned.

Mowbray told the Birmingham Mail: "We'll look at it today and decide if we're going to appeal.

"I saw the incident many times on the laptop in the dressing room. I can only comment on the angle I saw it.

"Mr Styles thought it was worthy of a red card and we have to abide by that for the time being.

"From the replays I've seen it looked like a pretty committed challenge from two players.

"I would say they were both sort of sliding three or four yards from the ball and collided and hit knees together.

"Their player sort of crumpled up and the referee came striding over and brandished his red card."
