Tony Mowbray has revealed West Brom could still bring another four players to The Hawthorns in the wake of Jay Simpson's arrival.
The Baggies boss wasted little time in strengthening after the transfer window opened by securing Simpson's services on loan for the second half of the season.
However, with West Brom battling against the drop, former Hibs boss Mowbray says the club could complete at least another four deals before the end of the month.
"The policy has been to keep as many irons in the fire as we can and we have been keeping a few things ticking along," he told the club's official website.
"There are three or four things ticking along at the moment that we could potentially push the button on at any given time.
"It is about trying to get the balance right and making sure, if we bring other players in, they bring the right qualities to our dressing room.
"We don't just want to bring in any old player. But the work continues behind the scenes to bring players in. We are still in discussions with a handful of clubs about their players."
Mowbray had been keen to bolster his strikeforce, although he has conceded the improved form of Luke Moore, Roman Bednar and Craig Beattie has given him food for thought.
"We are trying to increase our options up front although Luke, Roman and Craig have all pushed their claims very well in the last week," he continued.
"There might still be scope for one more striker."
