Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill has admitted he is ready to make a move for Wigan striker Emile Heskey.
O'Neill has already confirmed he will be looking to his squad during the January transfer window.
Heskey played under O'Neill during their time together at Leicester and the two could be reunited in the New Year.
O'Neill admits that he will be looking to take advantage of the fact that Heskey is out of contract at the end of the season and his club Wigan do not want to lose him for nothing next summer.
"I am sure Emile Heskey will not be short of offers," O'Neill told the Daily Star.
"That is what happens when players run into the last six months of their contracts.
"They decide what is going to happen."
