Scolari pleased with response

Luiz Felipe Scolari is pleased with the response of the Chelsea squad after holding a meeting with his players in the wake of Sunday's draw with Fulham.

The Blues were held to a 2-2 draw with their West London derby rivals at Craven Cottage and slipped three points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool in the process.

Scolari has come in for criticism this season and fresh doubts surrounding the Brazilian emerged following the setback at the weekend.

However, the former Portugal boss is delighted with his Chelsea squad after talking with his players prior to a training session on Tuesday.

"Before we went to training, we had a good team meeting," said Scolari.

"Since Sunday I have had the chance to watch again the Fulham game and today, with my players, we talked about all of that game before going out for a good training session."

And Scolari, who replaced Avram Grant in the summer, is now looking forward to his first FA Cup game, at home to Southend on Saturday.

"Now we begin to look ahead to my first FA Cup game, against Southend, a game we must be ready for, as if we are playing a team in first, second or third position in the Premier League," he concluded.
