Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger does not expect midfielder Tomas Rosicky to be available again until 'March at the earliest'.
The Czech Republic international has been sidelined since January after sustaining a hamstring tendon injury.
Rosicky underwent further surgery on the problem last month and it has now been confirmed he should return to action in 2009.
Wenger said on the club's official website: "He's doing rehab at the moment.
"He's back here on 17th December and then hopefully we can start to work with him. But it's a long-term prospect - maybe March at the earliest."
Rosicky, 28, has made 61 appearances for the Gunner since signing from Borussia Dortmund in 2006.
Meanwhile, Wenger confirmed striker Eduardo, who has been recovering from a broken leg, is on course in his rehabilitation.
The Frenchman added: "He will play on 16th December in the reserve team (against Portsmouth reserves)."
