Ridsdale - Hands off Jones

Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale has issued a hands-off warning to Blackburn over the managerial vacancy at Ewood Park.

Paul Ince was dismissed as Rovers boss earlier on Tuesday and Bluebirds boss Dave Jones has been linked with the post.

However, Ridsdale has told Blackburn they will have to look elsewhere as Jones will not be leaving Ninian Park.

Jones steered Cardiff to the FA Cup final last season and the Welsh side are mounting a strong push for promotion to the Premier League this term.

"John Williams can save the cost of a phone call to me. Dave Jones is going nowhere," Ridsdale told Sky Sports News chief news reporter Bryan Swanson.

"I know John very well and he hasn't been in touch so there's been no approach for Dave.

"I would not give permission for Williams to talk to him about the Blackburn vacancy."

Ince was sacked after six just months in the Ewood Park hot-seat following a poor run of results in the Premier League.

Rovers are now keen to have a new man in place in time for Saturday's game against Stoke.

The likes of Sam Allardyce, Graeme Souness and Alan Curbishley are all reportedly in the running
