Bolton boss Gary Megson has bemoaned the key decision that did not go his side's way during their 1-0 defeat to Wigan.
The Trotters had gone behind to an Amr Zaki penalty, but were denied an equaliser midway through the second half when Wilson Palacios 'cleared' a Danny Shittu header off the line.
Replays proved largely inconclusive, but onlookers may suggest that the ball did in fact cross the line.
"I think anybody who looks at it in a dispassionate way would come up with the same answer - that it was in," remarked Megson to Sky Sports.
"It was difficult to actually give, but the linesman is along the line and (referee) Phil Dowd is ten yards away from it.
"Palacios' body and head is over the line when he makes contact with the ball, so by virtue of that I can't see how it couldn't be given."
Despite his complaints, Megson accepted that with two such evenly matched sides, it was a moment such as the clearance or the penalty that was likely to decide the game.
"I thought it was going to be a tight game and the way both teams were playing it was looking as if it would be a tight game and it would probably be decided by a set-piece," he added.
"We've hit the woodwork twice, we've had a couple of chances, but we didn't play particularly well at all.
"If we'd have won it, we'd have gone on to probably the best position we've been in for 18 months.
"That was a big, big game for us and it's a big blow and we've got to make sure as a football club now that we don't implode."
