Gomes - I am improving

Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes believes things are improving for him at White Hart Lane.

The summer signing from PSV Eindhoven has endured a difficult start to life in North London after being guilty of a number of high-profile errors.

Gomes admits his fitness was a problem for him earlier in the season, but he now believes he is close to finding his best form and peak fitness.

"I feel I am adapting well at Tottenham, things are improving now," Gomes told Sky Sports News.

"I believe at the beginning we had some problems, the team didn't start well but I believe I am getting better and more confident in myself, getting my fitness back that wasn't very good at the start.

"I believe I never had a bad sequence of games in my career before, maybe one or two games I didn't do so well, but I believe in my talent."

The Brazilian also believes Spurs can challenge for a place in the Champions League despite their slow start to the season.

"When I played against Tottenham [for PSV] in the Uefa cup I thought this team should be competing in the Champions League," added Gomes.

"I believe I can help the team gain points and fight for that Champions League place.

"I don't think this has changed since I have come over, I believe in my talent and I will improve to help the team reach their goals."
