Ryan Babel has admitted that he did speak to Rafa Benitez about the possibility of a loan move.
Babel's agent Winnie Haatrecht claimed earlier this week that the Dutchman was concerned about his lack of first-team action and had requested a temporary return to Ajax, which was rejected by Liverpool.
The 21-year-old is keen to play more regularly but has been told that he will not be going anywhere.
Babel has been offered no assurances about his place in the side and accepts that he will just have to try and force his way into Benitez's plans.
He explained: "I have talked to the manager about my future, about maybe a loan somewhere so I can play every week.
"Ajax was only an example, a possibility, not something I was trying to make happen."
"Rafa has said no. He did not promise me anything for the rest of the season, there were no conditions and I have to accept this."
