Harry Redknapp insists Tottenham's recent revival is not the result of a tactical master plan.
After enduring a difficult start to the season, in which they slumped to the foot of the Premier League table on the back of an eight-game winless run and parted company with boss Juande Ramos, Spurs have been rejuvenated of late.
Having lured Redknapp away from top-flight rivals Portsmouth, three wins and a draw from their last four fixtures has lifted the club out of the relegation zone and back into the quest for European qualification.
Much has been made of the impact of the new boss on a previously under-performing squad, but the man himself is adamant there is no magic formula behind his instant success.
"I am not sure what I have done," said Redknapp.
"I have just got to know them, talked to them and encouraged them. I have told them to be confident.
"We have lots of players, who can play and I have tried to make the training ground a brighter place.
"A few weeks ago we had only two points and that was scary. We could have been cast adrift.
"But the whole league is so close apart from the top four, who are clearly the best teams."
