Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp believes Luka Modric has the ability to become a 'real star' at White Hart Lane.
The Croatian international midfielder arrived in England this summer to big expectations following a £16.6million move from Dynamo Zagreb.
But under former Spurs manager Juande Ramos, Modric was a disappointment and failed to live up to his reputation.
However, after watching the 23-year-old impress in the 4-4 midweek draw with Arsenal, Redknapp - who replaced Ramos last weekend - believes he has inherited a major asset.
"Modric could be a real star at this club, like he showed against England at Wembley for Croatia last year," said Redknapp.
"He has that amazing football brain. We've got to get him on the ball. He can open things up for you.
"The last goal against Arsenal we played a little ball into him in a dangerous area, between defence and midfield. He shot and hit the post."
