Everton boss David Moyes conceded his side were guilty of a 'poor performance' as their five-match unbeaten run came to an end against Wigan Athletic.
Henri Camara struck the only goal of the game to hand their hosts at the JJB Stadium three points in a match that lacked quality.
Moyes was disappointed his team failed to take their goalscoring opportunities and admitted they faded after a bright start.
"We had one or two chances but it wasn't to be," said Moyes.
"We started the game quite well and looked in control for long periods. But in the end goals are what matter. Wigan got their goal and looked stronger as the game went on.
"I was hoping for more tonight but it was a poor performance."
