Ince hails homegrown produce

Blackburn manager Paul Ince believes the appointment of Tony Adams at Portsmouth will benefit the Premier League and the England team.

Adams has been named Harry Redknapp's successor at Fratton Park and Ince feels the elevation of his former England colleague is a positive move.

The England national team is currently under the management of Fabio Capello but hopes are high that a homegrown boss will succeed the Italian.

And Ince feels that Adams' elevation will boost those plans: "It is another English manager in the Premier League.

"It has got to be a good thing. The bottom line is, we want to have an English international manager.

"We don't have to keep looking overseas. It can only be good for the Premier League and the international scene."
