Blackburn are hopeful of completing a deal for Tottenham's Paul Robinson in the next 24 hours.
It is believed that the two clubs have agreed a fee for the England international, thought to be in the region of £3.5million.
That means that Rovers are now waiting on permission to begin talks with the 28-year-old in regards to personal terms.
Paul Ince is keen for those discussions to be conducted as quickly as possible as he continues to piece together his squad ahead of the new season.
