Mark Viduka, who had cancelled out Giles Barnes' sixth-minute opener with his fourth goal of the season on 27 minutes, struck again at the death just as it looked as though Kenny Miller's effort early in the second half would hand the Rams a double over the Magpies.
Mark Viduka scored in the 87th minute to save Newcastle from an embarrassing defeat to bottom club Derby County. The Australian drew the Magpies level, after Giles Barnes had given the Rams a shock lead, before Kenny Miller struck to put Paul Jewell's side on the brink of their second win of the season. Viduka then popped up to snatch the draw for Newcastle, which will not be seen as a good result.
